A few weeks ago I joined the the Helpful SoCal Honda Dealers and their Guys in Blue as a partner for one of their Random Acts of Helpfulness. They hosted complimentary pop up shaves for dads on Father’s Day! It was nothing short of awesome.
The idea was simple—provide free straight razor shaves. The Guys in Blue brought professional barbers and old school barber chairs for a nostalgic touch—which my boys thought were so cool. These guys did such a great job, they made me a fan of straight razor shaving with my first one.
After I had my shave. I hung out with the other dads. We chatted, laughed—and of course, traded stories of being a dad.
I brought the kids along and they had a great time. Admittedly, they watched awhile, but a shave or two later they found a tree full of grubs. That kept them fascinated for as long as a kid could be enthralled with that—a nano second times 10—to be more exact, less than 5 minutes.
So while I was hanging out with some other dads, Naomi walked around and captured the photos of the event and the boys. Of course it didn’t take long for the boys to convince me to join in the drinkingfountain fun.
It was a great day—dads got spa treatments, kids got to be carefree and I got to be part of a campaign I’ve always admired.
